Oxfordshire UTMC

20 October 2008

Oxfordshire County Council wishes to introduce a Traffic Management and Control  system to assist the authority's Network Co-ordination Group in managing the County's road network and ensuring the optimal movement of traffic, given network constraints. The initial system will be centred around a UTMC Common Data Base and will act as the main strategy management tool and information repository for the County.

After a challenging tendering process and some stiff competition, Oxfordshire has chosen Cloud Amber to be their UTMC supplier.

The system Oxfordshire is putting in place brings together:

  • ANPR
  • BBC Travel
  • Car Parking
  • Highways Agency
  • Links to adjoining common databases
  • RMS
  • RTPI
  • SCOOT
  • Street works
  • VMS Signs

The architecture for the system currently looks like the following diagram:

The system also includes the supply and installation of 6 VMS signs. This is particularly exciting as it shows our experience and track record in the industry means Cloud Amber was a low risk option for Oxfordshire.
