Free Common Database

29 September 2008

neonCloud Amber is offering all local authority attendees to the UTMC 2008 conference a free common database. Why? Cloud Amber has a different philosophy to the more traditional view. We see no value in a empty common database. The same way there is no value in a empty bag. If you fill your bag with a million pounds, then suddenly your bag is valuable. We see UTMC common databases in the same vein, an empty common database in itself is no value to anyone. It is what you do with it that counts.

Added Value

watchAs a result, Cloud Amber has a number of products to help traffic managers and travellers through the challenges of modern transport. Cloud Amber has an over 30 adaptors that help fill up the bag. Cloud Amber's business intelligence journey times and data processing engines that manipulate and machine data in to more useful chunks of information which feed in to a strategy manager, reports and other systems. Cloud Amber's fully web and mobile enabled, Argonaut Command and Control systems allows complete control over the system from your sitting room at home. In addition the real people using the roads and traffic systems can be alerted and re-routed through their journey using Cloud Amber's unique fully web standards compliant Voyager Travel Portal. For more information on these products, select the appropriate links or view the products page using the link on the top and bottom of the site.

Free Internet Publishing

Cloud Amber is also extending this offer to include a free link in to our UK wide travel portal Voyager. Cloud Amber is outputting all the traffic and transport data that we process to the public over local Voyager sites such as Yorkshire Voyager and UK Voyager. These are free to use services for everyone and require no subscriptions, sign ups and is accessible to all.

Filling the Database

wiresUTMC is not a monopoly, it is open. We do not understand why there is the view within the industry that you have to buy an adaptor from the incumbent supplier. For suppliers and companies wanting to integrate in to UTMC systems, Cloud Amber is the only UTMC supplier to develop a Software Development Kit for integrating with any UTMC system. This product is described in more detail on our separate micro site UTMC Compliant Software Development Kit.
