Cloud Amber is at the very forefront of traffic and travel technology and has experienced considerable growth since establishing in 2006. Our sales growth has been consistently high with our efforts rewarded with large contracts being awarded. To meet this expanding growth we now require additional expertise.
The technologies we design, develop, support and train vary from real time server data processing & prediction algorithms through to relational databases and OLAP cubes. C++ and C# .Net are the primary languages underlying our products.
Project Engineer - to £30k
With over 15 contracts, a proven track record and an aggressive entrepreneurial sales strategy Cloud Amber is now recruiting for a Project Engineer. Reporting to the Project Manager, the role will take direct responsibility for all local and central data, databases and network issues. This will involve working directly with technical and non technical staff within customer and partner organisations, extracting data, setting up network routes, configuring routers and using Microsoft SQL Server 2005/2008 databases. The end goal for the role is to ensure our systems are installed, configured, connected and operating at full capacity. In addition some software installation, configuration and trouble shooting will also be required from time to time.
Key skills/experiances for the role are:
- Proficient in using Microsoft SQL Server 2005 and 2008, including writing SQL queries.
- Solid understanding of networks, IP, subnets, firewalls, routers and other network technologies.
- Being able to achieve results with difficult and intransigent 3rd parties.
- Working with technical and non technical staff to ensure desired outcomes are achieved.
The right candidate
Experience whilst working in your chosen field in a travel or transport setting would be a distinct advantage, but overall we are looking for the right person.
You can be based anywhere in the UK mainland and will work remotely. Full expenses will be paid for any equipment or travel that might be required.
Experience and qualifications are not essential. We value intellect, guile, an open attitude and a personable approach. We are looking for candidates who take responsibility, make decisions and see items through to resolution.
